sheryl,
I responded to your email but I don't know if you received it! Yes, I'll post a picture of a lapghan made with pockets. I'll post it here, along with the directions.
Thanks!

New Lapghan
Just finished another lapghan. This one is 20x26, made for kids over 6. It's done is bright primary colors, although the picture doesn't really capture that. I've made it to number 5, with 45 more to go! whew! Thankfully, I have received numerous requests to donate lapghans, and once I receive them, I'll post the pictures here as well as on the website.
Now, on to the next!

Let it snow!
It's a cold Saturday afternoon and I finished with the housecleaning. Elena is playing a video game and I figured it was time to pull out the yarn and crochet a while. I opened the blinds to let in a little more light, and low and behold, SNOW! I normally keep the blinds down in the winter to help keep the house warmer. I had no idea it was snowing. It's January 13th, I live in Iowa, and it's the first snowfall! I looked out on the deck, and had to get a picture because with the crazy weather we're having, this could be the only snow of the season! Thought I'd share this!
New pattern!
It's 2am and I'm still up! I've written a new pattern for a lapghan, and I had to publish it the site. Computer is burping a lot tonight, so it took forever to get the pattern on the site. I'm surprised my hands aren't cramping! Anyway, check out the Cozee's page for the link to the patterns.
Have a great weekend!

Update
I'm just about done with my 4th lapghan, and I'll post a picture when done. Elena wants every one I make! She knows what I'm doing this for, but she likes them all! I'll be taking her with me when we deliver the first 12, so she can understand how this all works. She's all excited because she gets to give gifts!
I've met some women who are making and donating some lapghans, and I'll also post a picture on the blog. Remember, if you'd like to help, please click on the link for JJ Thompson Designs, and go to the Cozee's page for more information!

My Inspiration
This picture of the little girl is my daughter Elena. She was born weighing 1 pound, 11 1/2 inches long, and by any measure, a miracle. She is stricken with Cerebral Palsy due to the trauma of premature birth. She is the reason I started this charity.
She is now in the 5th grade, and doing fantastic. Although she has daily, difficult struggles, she is the happiest person I've ever encountered. I have been blessed.

About Cozee's
Cozee's is a charity that makes lapghans for those who are confined to a wheelchair. This was started in 2006, and is growing a little bit every month. I'm working with women all over the country, who knit, sew or crochet, and who donate their time and talent to those in need.
I started out making all the lapghans myself, and as word is spreading, I now have wonderful caring women offering to help.
As of Dec. 2006, I have 3 completed lapghans. With the addition of new donors, I hope to meet and exceed my goal of 50 for 2007.
If you'd like to help, click on the JJ Thompson Designs link, then click on the Cozee's link for more information. I'll be posting pictures, updates and news here and on my website.
Thank you for your interest!
